  Answers to Questions about Buying Used Police CarsWhere do the used police cars come from? We bring the cars in from the largest police department in south Texas.
Why only 71K miles? The city we purchase from runs the cars to 70,000 miles and turns them over at that time and replaces it with a brand new vehicle.

What do we do to the cars? We recondition the vehicle inside and out, mechanically and cosmetically.
Do we de-tune the vehicle? No we do not de-tune the vehicles in any way, they are simply tuned up and are left the way ford produced them.
What kind of guarantee do we give on the vehicle? We guarantee the vehicle will be in the best possible condition we can get it in. We will do what we can to make sure your happy with the vehicle you purchase.
Does the car come with a warranty? No, the car does not come with a warranty, however you can purchase one from us, Penn warranty corporation. We feel that it should be your choice if you do or do not want a warranty so we leave that for you to decide.
Do we offer financing? Yes we do but only for municipal agencies, we can not finance an individual. We offer financing via First Government Leasing. Feel free to look them up online at www.firstgov.com and fill out the simple one page application for fast approval.
Do we deliver? Yes we deliver via auto transport open air haulers. Our carrier has a fleet of haulers and delivers nationwide. Delivery varies in price depending on how far from San Antonio, Texas you are.
How long does it take to get a vehicle delivered? Once payment is received on the vehicle we usually get it loaded on the truck within 3-5 days and depending on how far from Texas you are it may take up to 2 weeks to get there.
Do we equip the cars with lights and sirens etc? Yes we can equip the vehicle with any product we offer on SWPS.com for an additional charge.
Do we sell the vehicle to individuals? Yes we do, Ford can not sell a "new" p71 package to anyone other than a municipal agency as a new car. Once the car is sold to a department and used, then sold by that department to a dealer, it is perfectly ok for an individual to purchase a police interceptor.
Do you buy cars from individuals? No. We have a source for clean cars in good condition that we service year round and have a history of.
Do you sell the used police cars to the public? Yes, once the car has been sold to a municipality and used as a police car and resold it is perfectly ok for an individual to purchase the car.
Can you equip the car with equipment for anyone? Yes, we can equip the vehicle any way specified. It is up to the buyer to use the vehicle and equipment properly abiding by their state, city, or county laws.

What we do when we refurbish your used police car
We purchase the vehicles at 65,000 miles and start with mechanics. We have a detailed checklist that our mechanics go through on each and every vehicle.
The oil and oil filter are changed.
Antifreeze in flushed and replaced.
Serpentine belt is inspected and replaced if needed.
Coil packs are tested and replaced if needed.
Brake rotors are turned and replaced if needed and all pads
are replaced.
Transmission fluid and filter are replaced.
Rear end differential fluid is changed.
Tires are inspected and replaced if needed.
The interior is inspected.
New carpet is installed.
Any tears or rips in the seats and headlined are replaced by the panel.
Any trim that is broken or missing is replaced.
The am/fm factory stereo is installed.
Spare tire, tire tool and jack are installed.
The exterior is inspected by our paint shop.
All holes are filled and dents are pulled.
The car is completely repainted.
